The European Championship got underway yesterday, Sept 20th in Drenthe, the Netherlands, with a strong presence of nine riders from the three AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step teams at the starting line.
In the U19 squad, Luca Vierstraete, Nela Kankovska, and Fee Knaven were representing. Fee delivered an outstanding performance, securing a 5th place on the 20,6 kilometre course in Emmen, with an impressive average speed of 45.525 kilometres per hour.
“The time trial went generally well, but not quite as I had hoped,” Fee said after the finish. “The gusts of wind on the N-road slightly disrupted my concentration, but overall, I am satisfied! My goal was to finish in the top 5, and I achieved that.”
Maud and Gaia achieved the best results in the U23 category, finishing 8th and 10th, respectively.
