Tour of Flanders Women To Light Up Belgian Roads

Tour of Flanders Women 2023 takes place this Sunday 2nd April, setting off from Oudenaarde in Belgium. Team Jayco AlUla has made its selection for this 10th edition of the Classic.

One of the team leaders, Letizia Paternoster, said ahead of the race, “It’s hard to hide a bit of excitement for my first ever Tour of Flanders. Everyone told me about it as a cruel but beautiful race at the same time and I can’t wait to face the first Flemish Muur.”

“After the crash in De Panne I stopped for a few days and then resumed my preparation. Yesterday I did a 5-hour workout and the sensations are good. I will give everything I can and also try to help Ruby who is riding really well and is strong at the moment.”

Martin Vestby, the team’s Sport Director added, “Tour of Flanders is the biggest classic of the spring season and we will be at the start with a very strong team. We have Ruby who has gone very well in the previous races and took a strong fifth place in Dwars door Vlaanderen last Wednesday. She will be one of our leaders together with Letizia.”

“It will be up to the two of them to share the responsibilities of the race and they will both be supported by a strong and balanced team. I am sure that we will finish the series of Flemish classics in a great way.”
