Team Line Up for A Week of One Day Races

Team dsm-firmenich PostNL have a busy few days of racing ahead. The squad will begin today at the GP Oetingen. Ahead of the race, Joey van Rhee – Team dsm-firmenich PostNL coach said, “GP Oetingen will be a nice race where we ride laps that include a cobblestone section and a climb. In recent years, we have seen that it can be a hard race with a small group that go to the finish. We will start the race with a nice selection, without a selected finisher, which really opens up opportunities for us. We want to animate the race and will go on the attack to get in the best possible position to go for a result. We have to see how the race will go, but we believe in ourselves and our strength as a team.”

The team have also made their selection for the upcoming Drentse Acht van Westerveld that will take place on March 9th. Joey van Rhee – Team dsm-firmenich PostNL coach has been analysing the event in anticipation of the team’s performance. “Drenste Acht van Westerveld will be a race where the weather could significantly impact the outcome. We are hoping for strong winds during the race, which will allow us to demonstrate our strength as a team in the echelons. The race will be held on a local lap with small, open stretches where wind could create chaos. Riding together as a unit will be important from the start onwards, to make sure that we are in the best position to create opportunities. While we must adapt to various race scenarios, we are well-prepared. We will remain sharp for attacks, but if the race culminates in a bunch sprint, our focus will be on supporting Rachele as our finisher, who has already showcased her abilities at the UAE Tour last month.”

Rachele Barbieri will then also line up for the Miron Ronde van Drenthe on March 10th, alongside her selected teammates. Albert Timmer – Team dsm-firmenich PostNL coach said, “The Miron Ronde van Drenthe takes place on a local lap that features the VAM Berg, a short, punchy climb that we will tackle six times. We are expecting a race full of attacks and chaos, but we have a group of riders who are ready to race in different scenarios. If the race comes down to a sprint on the final ascent of the VAM Berg, Charlotte will be our finisher, and she has proven to be one of the fastest in the bunch, even in a difficult final. Throughout the day, we will have to be attentive and observe the moves that attempt to go clear, but we have a strong group to also cover those moves.”
