Team Jayco AlUla Chasing Gold

Team Jayco AlUla is feeling confident ahead of the Amstel Gold Race – Women, which takes place on Sunday 16th April in the Netherlands.

Spanish rider, Ane Santesteban said, “The team rode so good in Brabantse Pijl on Wednesday and this gives us all so much confidence ahead of Amstel Gold Race this weekend because we know racing like this, the results will arrive.

Personally, I did a really good block of training at altitude, and I felt really strong on the bike at Brabantse Pijl. I am looking forward to starting the Ardennes block this weekend at Amstel, and then onto Fleche and Liege, two of my favourite races.”

Shawn Clarke (Sport Director) added, “The team rode super well in Brabanste. We went into that race with an open plan as everyone was coming off a good training block and everyone wanted to test themselves and see where they were at.

I think we passed that test and it’s given us a lot of confidence going into Amstel, especially with Ruby, Kristen, Ane and Alex. We’ll definitely look to use those four riders to be aggressive once we hit the circuits in Valkenburg.

As a team, we want to cover all attacking scenarios and we have Alex for the sprint, if she can hang on over the climbs she’s got a good chance in the sprint at the end.”
