Martin Vestby, Sport Director of Team JAYCO-ALULA announced the team line-up for the Omloop het Nieuwsblad and the Omloop van het Hageland, which together mark the opening weekend of the Classics season on February 25th and 26th.
“We have a new composition of the team this year and we are all excited to start our classics campaign,” Vestby stated. “We know Omloop het Nieuwsblad is always a selective race and positioning will be key, particularly in the hilly section in the second half of the race. Hageland is a different style of race and we have seen different scenarios play out there, so we will have to be switched on and ready to take our opportunities as a team.”
Dutch Rider Nina Kessler added, “I am really looking forward to the start of the Spring Classics. Omloop het Nieuwsblad is always a hectic one, because for most of the riders it’s the first race of the season and everyone wants to see where they are. We had a good practice in the UAE Tour, the form was good and we rode strong. Now we need to put all the pieces together to make a great result and I think, with this team, we are ready to do that.”
