Strengthened Team to Launch As Liv AlUla Jayco

GreenEDGE Cycling – Australia’s first and only men’s and women’s WorldTour team – has confirmed its final 2024 women’s team roster and is pleased to confirm that Liv Cycling will step up to become the title sponsor of the women’s World Team, which from January 1st, 2024. Liv is the only comprehensive cycling brand in the world dedicated solely to women. The team will be known as ‘Liv AlUla Jayco’.

The new name represents a further commitment from Giant Group, the team’s technical partner. For the coming season, the Australian outfit will welcome seven new riders, creating a diverse and balanced 16-strong rider set up.

Along with the name change for 2024, the squad is pleased to add a women’s development team under the GreenEDGE Cycling banner. This squad will share the same identity as the women’s WorldTeam, creating strong cohesion between the two teams racing on Liv bikes.

A Layer Of Depth
With the merger of GreenEDGE Cycling – currently named Team Jayco AlUla – and Liv Racing TeqFind ahead of the 2024 season, five new faces from the Dutch set-up will form part of Liv AlUla Jayco World Team for the coming season.

Five-time Spanish champion Mavi Garcia will bring with her a wealth of experience, after competing for general classification honours at the highest level. Mavi has a list of palmarès, boasting a top-10 overall finish at the Tour de France Femmes and an overall podium finish at the Giro d’Italia Donne in the last two seasons. Joining the Spanish champion will be four of her Liv Racing TeqFind teammates in the shape of Dutch trio Jeanne KorevaarSilke Smulders and Quinty Ton, plus Swedish rider Caroline Andersson.

“The partnership with Liv Racing TeqFind has brought in some exciting new riders and it is great to have this extra layer of depth,” said General Manager Brent Copeland. “Mavi has shown she is one of the best climbers in the peloton in recent years and she will be one of the leaders. The new signings also mean that we have a more balanced roster, which is important for being able to compete across a wide range of races throughout a busy and growing women’s racing calendar.”

With goals in a wide variety of races, Italian rider Anna Trevisi is also confirmed to join the squad. Anna brings experience in both the spring classics and sprint lead-outs and will be a welcomed addition for the team’s sprinter Letizia Paternoster.

A Star For The Future
As well as bringing in experienced campaigners, GreenEDGE Cycling will continue to look to the future with the development young talent as a priority. The launch of a new development team is an exciting expansion and one that owner Gerry Ryan and team management believe is vital for the growth of the women’s side of the sport.

With one eye on the future, up-and-coming talent Ella Wyllie is an exciting signing for the team. The 21-year-old is set to step into the WorldTour peloton with the squad in 2024. The young talent from New Zealand only made her debut in the European peloton in 2023, but has already shown her abilities in an array of races.

Australian rider Ruby Roseman-Gannon has given the team confidence in developing talent. Roseman-Gannon joined the team in 2021 with limited experience of racing overseas and has since grown into a consistent high achiever, picking up multiple WorldTour top-five placings in only her second season in the WorldTour peloton.

“The women’s peloton is developing at a rapid rate year after year, and it is important to be at the forefront of the growth and to help young talent prepare for the demands of stepping up to the Women’s WorldTour peloton,” Copeland added. “We have a nice mixture of youth and experience in our new roster for 2024, the addition of Ella is a very exciting one for us. She burst onto the scene this year and has already shown glimpses of what she is capable of. Now it is our job to help her reach her full potential and we believe we have found a young star.”
