Movistar had a strong showing in the Tour of Flanders on Sunday. Always present in the moves and at the front the team demonstrated a real willingness to win the race. Ultimately they finished with one podium spot as Liane Lippert raced into the finish in the front group and Marlen Reusser also clinched a top 10 spot. Liane Lippert: “As expected, it was a super fast and tough race. The team did a great job, and I’m very proud of the girls. I believed in my chances in the final sprint, and it’s a result the Movistar Team deserved. Marlen worked for me and gave me the confidence I needed. I’m very happy!
After doing so much work, Marlen Reusser still had the strength to take 10th place: Â “I’m definitely very happy. Obviously, we wanted to win, and Liane was very strong today. It’s a shame not to take the top step, but a 3rd place finish is great. I’m very proud of the whole team!”
