Pikulik Takes Team’s First 2024 Win

Daria Pikulik and her Human Powered Health teammates showed picture-perfect teamwork to dominate the finale of Ronde de Mouscron, with Pikulik flying to the team’s first victory of the year.

The 27-year-old showed her speed and dominance at the end of the 122.5km route in Belgium, weaving through her rivals to capture the win.

“It feels really good to win and it was a great team effort so we are really happy about today,” Pikulik said after the event.

Taking in laps of the 24 km circuit around the town of Mouscron, the top teams were keen to keep the pressure on, driving a relentless pace at times, as the peloton wound their way through the exposed Belgian countryside.

Katia Ragusa, Silvia Zanardi, and Daria’s sister Wiktoria Pikulik were key deputies throughout the day, while Henrietta Christie and Linda Zanetti were ever-present at the head of proceedings to ensure supreme positioning for the eventual winner.

“The girls did a perfect job to protect me in the wind and also to cover attacks all day,” Pikulik added. “I want to thank all of them and all of the staff for the continued support.”

Placed in the fourth wheel for the crucial rising false flat finishing straight, Pikulik was perfectly positioned for her final launch. She then took off on the left side of the road with a devastating acceleration, passing fellow podium finishers Anniina Ahtosalo (Uno-X Mobility) and Martina Fidanza (CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling), before raising her left arm in celebration in signature style.

The squad even came together off the bike in a show of teamwork, with those who raced the Tour of Flanders the previous day helping the soigneurs with bottle hand-ups and celebrations at the finish.

It is also the first win under the belt of Team Director Giorgia  Bronzini. “I’m really proud of the girls and all the staff around me,” Bronzini said. “I see a team today working hard for a goal. I see a step up every day and I’ve never felt this before. For me, it’s my first victory, and I’m convinced there will be more and more results.”

Next up for the squad is the toughest one-day race in the world – Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift on April 6.
