Megan Guarnier crowned 2016 Voxy Road Rider of the Year

The Voxwomen team are pleased to announce Megan Guarnier as the first winner of the inaugural ‘Voxy’ Road Rider of the Year.

With a strong roster of contenders including names such as Olympic Gold medalist Anna van der Breggen and 2016 World Champion Lizzie Diegnan, judges were faced with a difficult decision.

“Megan is a role model for the sport, combined with her success in 2016 she has to be the rider of the year” said our expert panel of judges of their decision.

The winner was announced at the Rouleur Classic in London on Saturday, and Megan herself joined the Voxwomen team on stage to accept her award and participate in a Q&A session about her season. Megan said of winning her award: “I know how strong my competitors were so to win this award is an honour and I’m very proud.”

Voxwomen founder Anthony McCrossan said: “It was great to have Megan with the Voxwomen team this weekend in London to celebrate her award win. After a brilliant season she is a well deserving winner and a great ambassador for the sport. We’re extremely grateful to Rouleur Classic for giving us the platform to host our first award and bring women’s cycling to the event. I also want to say special thanks to a great panel of experts who made the decision.  The Voxwomen team are looking forward to next year!
