Human Powered Health is pursuing a new long-term vision focused on its Women’s WorldTour team, ushering in a new era for its managed cycling program.
“When we founded our women’s team in 2012, we aspired to compete at the highest levels of the sport,” said team Managing Director, Charles Aaron. “Since then, women’s cycling has grown tremendously. It’s something we have always believed in. Moving forward, we aim to advance our Women’s WorldTeam to stand among the very best in the world.”
Ro de Jonckere, the team’s General Manager, shares Aaron’s belief that the rapid growth of women’s pro road racing presents a unique growth opportunity. “It has been an unprecedented period of expansion, highlighted by the return of a women’s Tour de France in 2022 after a 30-year hiatus,” said De Jonckere. “The growth of races, media coverage, and rider salaries for women in this sport was long overdue and we see a great foundation to build upon from here.”
In 2023, the team claimed 14 victories, highlighted by sprinter Daria Pikulik bookending the WorldTour season with wins. Pikulik’s six wins and five additional podium finishes as well as the team’s three national championships, and participation in Gent-Wevelgem and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift highlighted a season full of growth and opportunity for the team.
A late summer surge included four wins for Pikulik, burgeoning climbing ace Barbara Malcotti’s first pro win, and consistent performances from a crucial mid-season transfer in Audrey Cordon-Ragot.
“The team responded well this summer to the opportunity to perform. They competed hard and as a result, moved up the standings,” said performance manager Kenny Latomme. “We have some young talent here, alongside experienced veterans. They are learning and growing together as a team, and we are motivated for 2024.”
New signings of athletes and staff for the 2024 team are nearly complete. Details on signings, new partnerships, and returning riders will be released in the coming days and weeks.
