The 34th Edition of Giro Donne has been officially launched. The 2023 edition of this most prestigious Italian stage competition in the international women’s cycling calendar, will begin on June 30th in Chianciano Terme and end on July 9th in Olbia. The race will feature the best Italian and international female athletes worldwide. Five Italian regions will be crossed on a route twisting and turning for 928 km and taking in some of the most fascinating destinations of the Peninsula from an historical, cultural, panoramic and naturalistic point of view. This is thanks to the commitment and hard work of PMG Sport/Starlight, who manages and coordinates the entire organisation of the event for the third consecutive year.
The starting line awaits 168 athletes hailing from the top 24 teams in the world, including 15 UCI Women’s World Teams from Italy, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, the United States and Switzerland. The race is divided into 9 stages to cover the 928 km distance that, as well as being highly technical, will also be steeped in nature, history and tourism.
Tens of thousands of fans and spectators from the geographical areas involved in the competition are expected to follow and support the athletes in their race towards the finish line. They will be entertained by a display of cycling prowess over a morphologically rich and diverse itinerary across sea and mountains, hills and lakes, rivers and cities of art.
