Previous history of this race shows that the queen of the Mur is in fact Dutch champion Anna Van Der Breggen, who has taken the almighty Mur de huy in her stride winning Le Fleche Wallone from 2015 up until her retirement in 2021. This route for Le Fleche Wallone is compared very similarly to the one of which saw Julian Alaphalippe take the win in the mens race of 2018.
Further into the week on Sunday the 24th of April the women will set off as usual from Bastogne for the start of the 2022 edition of Liege Bastogne Liege. It will be an early start for the women as they will be setting of the morning of the mens 108th addition of the race.
The women will tackle 142.1km of intense racing towards the Ardent City, where last year saw again, champion Anna Van Der Breggen help her team mate, Demi Vollering storm to her first world tour win. Different from last year however the route will include a new and potentially unexpected climb; Mont- Le- Soie.
