Lore de Schepper is poised to join the AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step U23 team. The Belgian rider, who is currently riding for the junior team, will make the transition to the U23 squad in 2024.
The progression from the junior squad to the U23 team is a crucial juncture in the development phase of every cyclist. For Lore de Schepper, this transition comes at the perfect time and undoubtedly brings new challenges.
“Last year, I was approached by team manager Natascha den Ouden at the finish of the climbing race in Vresse. That is how I ended up with the juniors at AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step in 2023,” Lore said enthusiastically. “This year, I will be able to make the transition to the U23 team within this team, which gives me a really positive feeling. I am also really looking forward to taking on longer races and discovering where I can position myself within the U23 category or compared to the elite riders.”
“Reflecting on my time with the juniors, I can certainly look back optimistically. I learned a lot in the past year, including the tricks of riding in the peloton, experiencing international races, as well as finding my role within the team. It’s not just about the race itself, but also aspects like nutrition,” Lore explained.
“I hope to gain even more insight into racing in the coming years, as well as working with my teammates and helping the squad whenever possible. The junior competitions have given me the opportunity to learn and prove myself. Now, I’m ready for the challenges of the U23 category and eager to show that I have the potential to become a top-level cyclist!”
